Michigan Defense Resiliency Consortium (MDRC) — Company Assistance (EGI/MMTC)
DoD-funded support to help Michigan manufacturers enter defense energy storage and battery supply chains.
Overview
Through the DoD’s Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program, EGI and MMTC provide up to $75K cost-share to help Michigan small and medium-sized manufacturers diversify into defense energy-storage and battery markets. Participants receive a deep-dive company assessment, valuation, and opportunity plan tailored to DoD supply chain growth.
Key Information
Funding covers up to 50% of the cost for approved technical assistance projects (company pays matching 50%).
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants are Michigan-based small and medium-sized manufacturers with fewer than 500 employees, financial stability, and the potential to address defense energy storage or battery supply chain needs.
Application Process
How to Apply
- Open the MDRC Company Assistance page and submit the interest form.
- EGI/MMTC reviews eligibility and scopes the technical-assistance project.
- Qualified firms execute a cost-share agreement (50/50) prior to kickoff.
- Project costs are reimbursed per agreement upon documentation.
